Privacy Policy

What Techavtar does with personal information — both yours as a visitor or customer, and your own customers' details held inside Jevrat.

Last updated

This policy covers two different things, and the difference matters:

Information we decide what to do with — enquiries from this website, and the details of the people who run a business using Jevrat. Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 we are the Data Fiduciary for these.

Information you put into Jevrat about your own customers — their names, phone numbers, purchases and scheme balances. Those are yours. You decide what happens to them; we only process them to run the service for you.

1. What we collect from this website

We ask before we count you. On your first visit a bar appears at the bottom of the page asking whether we may use Google Analytics. Until you press Allow, nothing is loaded and your browser contacts Google not at all — no cookie is set and no record of your visit leaves this site. Pressing No thanks costs you nothing: every page works exactly the same either way.

If you do allow it, Google Analytics tells us which pages people read and which of them lead to an enquiry. It sets cookies in your browser and sends Google a record of the pages you visited. We have switched off Google's advertising features and asked for your internet address to be shortened before it is stored, so it is used to count visits rather than to follow you around the internet. Google processes this outside India.

Analytics runs on the public website only. It is not loaded anywhere inside the product: once you sign in, nothing about what you do in your own business is sent to Google.

We use no advertising trackers, and we sell nothing to anybody.

You can change your mind at any time. Every page of this website carries a Cookie choices link in the footer, which brings the question back. Choosing No thanks after having said yes also switches Analytics off and deletes the cookies it set. Beyond that, most browsers can block these cookies, and Google publishes an opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

One small thing is stored on your device whichever way you answer: your answer. It is kept so we do not ask again on every page, it never leaves your browser, and clearing your browser storage removes it — after which we will ask once more.

  • What you type into an enquiry or contact form: your name, business name, mobile number, email address, city, roughly how many showrooms you run, and your message.
  • Which campaign or link brought you here, so we can tell which of our own efforts are worth continuing.
  • A one-way scramble of your internet address, kept only so a flood of junk submissions can be traced. The address itself is never stored.

2. What we collect when you use the product

  • Account details for each of your staff: name, email, mobile and role.
  • Records of what was done and by whom — the audit trail that makes the system trustworthy.
  • Technical records needed to run and secure the service: sign-in attempts, and details of crashes.
  • Billing details: your plan, what you paid and when. Card and bank details are held by our payment provider, never by us.

3. Why we are allowed to hold it

For enquiries: because you gave them to us and asked to be contacted. You may withdraw that at any time.

For account and billing records: because we need them to provide the service you have asked for and to meet our own legal obligations, including tax records.

4. Where it is kept, and who can see it

In India. The database is in Mumbai and the servers handling requests run in the Mumbai region. Everything you type into a form, and everything inside the product, stays there.

The one exception is website analytics, and only for visitors who allow it: Google receives a record of which public pages were visited, and processes that outside India. It never receives anything from inside the product, and never receives what you typed into a form. Decline the cookie question and nothing leaves India at all.

One business's records are isolated from another's by the database itself. Our staff can access your records only to run the service, to fix a fault, or when you ask for help — and any such access is recorded on your own audit trail, visible to you.

5. Who else is involved

We do not sell personal information to anyone, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

  • Our hosting and database providers, who store the data in India on our instructions.
  • Our payment provider, who handles card and bank details so that we never hold them.
  • Google Analytics, which counts visits to the public pages of this website — only for visitors who allow it, and never inside the product.
  • Where you have switched it on, WhatsApp, to send messages you have asked us to send to your customers.
  • The government's e-invoice portal, when you register a business-to-business invoice.

6. How long we keep it

  • Enquiries: until you ask us to delete them, or three years after our last contact with you.
  • Account and product records: for as long as your subscription runs, then 90 days so you can still ask for a copy, then deleted.
  • Billing and tax records: for as long as Indian tax law requires us to keep them.
  • Sign-in attempts and crash records: a short technical window, then deleted.

7. Your rights

You may ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and withdraw consent you have given. Write to techavtar.official@gmail.com and we will act on it and confirm when it is done.

If your own customer asks you to delete their details, you can do that yourself inside Jevrat; where you cannot, ask us and we will help.

Complaints reach a person, not a queue: write to the same address and say it is a complaint.

8. Security

Passwords are stored scrambled and can never be read back. Access between businesses is blocked by the database, not merely by the application. Sign-in attempts are limited to blunt password guessing. Every consequential action is recorded on an audit trail that cannot be edited or deleted, even by us.

No system is perfect. If a breach ever affects your data we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires, promptly and plainly.

9. Children

Jevrat is business software and is not intended for anyone under 18.

10. Changes and contact

If this policy changes materially we will tell you. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
